Scott M. Horowitz is the Principal Owner and President of Shore Line Insurance Agency, Inc., a family-owned property and casualty insurance brokerage based in Rocky Point, New York. The agency was co-founded in 1988 with Christopher J. Grzymala, establishing a business centered on strong relationships, attentive service, and long-standing client continuity.
Following Christopher’s retirement in May 2022, Scott assumed full ownership of Shore Line Insurance. The agency continues to work with families, businesses, and nonprofit organizations, including many relationships that span decades and multiple generations.
Scott entered the insurance profession in 1986 as a district agent with a national multi-line insurance carrier, where he received comprehensive training in property and casualty risk management.
He is a former member of the Board of Directors and current Board Emeritus of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island. Scott was Founder and Chairman of the Hamptons Offshore Invitational Fishing Tournament for 23 years, concluding in 2024. During that time, the tournament generated more than $2.5 million in support of the organization.
Scott completed six terms as an elected Town Trustee for the Town of Southampton and was elevated to the roles of President and Treasurer for two terms. He was designated by the Board of the Town of Southampton to the Conservation Board for two terms. He has been appointed to a Suffolk County advisory committee focused on conservation easements and the protection of working waterfronts.
For more than 30 years, he has held the position of President of the Pine Neck Landing Homeowners Association, overseeing a coastal residential community that includes a shared marina and shoreline.
Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies from Southampton College. He holds a 100-Ton U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s license and is a graduate of the Suffolk County Police Academy.
Scott’s work has remained grounded in a long-standing commitment to stewardship — of client relationships, community institutions, and coastal environments. Over the course of his career, he has maintained continuous involvement in the organizations and communities he serves, with a focus on stability, accountability, and long-term continuity. This perspective has shaped his approach to Shore Line Insurance and the clients and organizations he continues to advise.
Today, Shore Line Insurance continues as a family-operated brokerage under Scott’s leadership, with the next generation of his family and a dedicated team supporting the organization and its clients.
